This poem is about trusting someone you love blindly but being betrayed by them.
Your voice, so serene lured me in.
I didn’t think twice, but I followed.
Slowly, through deep golden waters, I swam.

I let the waves carry me to you.
The waves played between the two of us.
The waves continued to carry me.

I held my head above the waters.
The very waters that slowly drowned me.
I watched you as you slowly let go of my body.

I followed you because I loved you.
Your voice will forever echo through the waves.
They had said to fear you. To not trust you.

The waves, the ones that cared for me the most,
They took me. They took me to my resting place.
So, there my body lay decorated by the waves.

I knew my love had betrayed me.

As the golden waves turned dark and cold
So did I. Disappearing with the sun, never to rise again.
