Forgive Me Not

Forgive me father for I have sinned?

It's been 30 years since my last confession.

My Aunt Sue asked me to go so I did,

didn't give the best impression.

He asked me to give in detail every shocking event.

I was like "really sir"?

"I have to do all that to repent"?

He was like, "Yeah, I need every detail even if you regret it".

"If you don't tell me every detail of your sins you're not showing penance'".

The moment he said God in my mind said,

"Don't try you will not win this".

I shook the priests hand, proceeded to stand,

"Thank you sir don't need your forgiveness".

I left the church feeling a little hurt.

God said, "You know you're forgiven".

"People see light pouring from your soul and hate because you're winning".
