The door swung open with a burst startling Sadie.

"COLT!" She screamed, "That's bad luck! You're not supposed to see the bride before the wedding!"

From the warnings he heard endlessly - he knew, though he didn't care. She was stunning and he wanted her now.

Brown eyes gleamed with a hint of concern. Her heart hammered against her ribs, the fabric of her dress frozen in stasis.

Colt crossed the floor in two, no three, strides. In a flash his hand, strong and worn from years of labor, cradled her neck, bringing her lips nearer to his.

"…Oops…" he whispered, hauntingly.

Sadie could barely squeak out a protest before melting in his grasp, the shock of the entry vanishing into his touch. Soft moans betrayed her irritation at his open defiance to traditional norms.

For a heartbeat, neither moved; the scent of her perfume filling the small space between them. She opened her mouth to speak, then closed it. A smile tugged at Colt - he could feel her dissent.

Sadie pulled away and slapped a gentle gloved hand on his chest. Her eyes sparkled in fury, dancing between his eyes and his mocking smile, struggling to speak. "What are you doing in here?!"

Colt slid a finger over her soft lips, moving to close the gap. "You're stunning," he whispered in her ear. An explosion of goosebumps tickled her spine. His hand slid along the small of her lacy back and pulled her closer.

"Colt - " she weakly protested.

"Shhh…"

Closer still their lips brushed; the faintest touch. In the distance, wedding bells chimed.

Her dress dropped to the floor with a soft thump.
