The Bus

Waiting for the bus. I hate taking the bus. I try really hard to get here just as it’s about to arrive, but with a bus, something always throws it off. Too many people getting off somewhere earlier, slowing the whole process, you end up waiting. Then trying to be smarter, arrive right as its technically due… But nobody got off earlier, so it arrives early. You miss it and have to wait longer for the next bus!

This is when I think car. If I had a car I could go when I please, and stay or leave when I please! I would be in charge! I wouldn’t have to chit chat with strangers, or sit with someone who smells funny just to get somewhere I have to go!

But… I don’t want to get a car. I’m saving up for a boat, a boat is fun! A car? No. I don’t go that many places really. Plus, it would sit in a parking lot, one I’d need to pay for, and I would hardly use it. Everywhere I go, including to the lake, I can get to by bus! And once I get the boat, I can park it for free because I belong to the Mendon Society!

The Mendon Society… I hate going to the meetings. Once you sign in, you actually have to talk to people. I don’t talk to people well… Plus, I forgot, I sometimes get seasick on a boat… huh. I think I always think boat because I could be alone on it, but then, seasick? On the bus I’m not alone, but I really don’t have to talk to anybody… Maybe the bus is my best option after all…

Unfortunately, though it probably is my best bet… I hate taking the bus.
