“There’s more to the story.” Rebecca sipped her coffee.
"I thought it was a missing person case." Geoff looked at his friend.
"It started that way, yeah. But then it got a lot more complicated." She took a bite from her lemon muffin.
"Like how?"
"The last person she was seen with is, or maybe was, a journalist." She gave Jack his sippy cup and tucked in his blanket.
"A whistle blower thing you think?"
"It's looking that way." Jack threw his cup on the floor and Rebecca bent to retrieve it, banging her head on the table on the way up. "Ouch!"
"So where did she work, hospital, lab, government office?"
"A factory making baby bottles."
"What secrets would they have?"
"That's what's got me stumped." Rebecca rubbed her eyes. She had been losing sleep over this one.
"Chemicals! It has to be the chemicals in the plastic. I was watching this documentary about how China are still using chemicals banned in this country. Yes, it has to be that."
"Of course. The dead baby. The journalist. It adds up. Thanks Geoff, I think you've just solved my case."
