David is face to face with The Hopper who currently has him facing a potential death |
David stood there with his eyes shut, praying for mercy. He knew what kind of person The Hopper was and knew there was no amount of begging he could do to spare his life. It seemed like David would suffer the same fate as his father and at the hands of the same person who killed him several years ago, a fact that David was still struggling to wrap his head around. Moments passed as David didn’t hear or feel anything. For him, time felt like it had come to a sudden halt but at this point David didn’t understand what the hold up was. Opening his eyes, David would be left in shock as he didn’t see The Hopper standing in front of him with the gun. Instead, The Hopper seemed to be lying lifeless on the ground. Confused, David poked his body with his foot as it barely moved. “Holy shit, what happened?” David said as he bent over to examine the body closer. Placing his two fingers on the body’s neck, David noticed the body still had a pulse. Quickly, David grabbed the shotgun off the ground, ensuring The Hopper didn’t have it when he came to. David stood there and waited as the body continued to lie lifeless on the floor. The body didn’t move for a good couple of minutes. During that time, David continued to look around while keeping an eye on the body. Eventually, the body woke up and seemed to have a confused look on its face. “What am I doing in the garage? Wh~who are you?” The body asked as David realized The Hopper was no longer in control. “It’s alright, I’m nobody. Are you alright?” David asked. The man nodded. “Yeah I just feel so we~” The man passed out on the floor again as David ran over and checked on him. David was confused as to what was going on. Why didn’t The Hopper kill him? Why did the man just pass out again? His answers would somewhat be answered as the man woke back up and instantly jumped at the shotgun David was holding. He did his best to hold off the man as he kicked him away from him. Creating space, David pointed the gun at the man. “What the fuck are you doing?” David demanded as the man smiled. “Seems like I’m losing a bit of power at my age. Good thing is I know you’d never kill me like this. I may be an old man who’s guilty of killing your father but this man has plenty of life and didn’t do a single thing wrong,” The Hopper said as he continued to smile. “Come on detective, take your shot.” David’s hand began to shake a little as he didn’t know what to do. He couldn’t kill The Hopper as he knew he’d be killing an innocent man. There was only one way to get full justice and that would be to take down The Hopper in his own body. “Where are you hiding your original body?” David demanded. The Hopper just laughed. “My original body? You mean that old shell of a body? Let’s just say I had to move it to make sure you couldn’t find it.” The Hopper continued to laugh as he found all of this amusing. He knew he held the upper hand even if David was the man holding the gun. He knew David was a by the book detective that would never kill a man who wasn’t guilty. The Hopper just continued to enjoy the moment as David realized he couldn’t do anything. Realizing this, he pulled the gun down and shook his head. He was annoyed beyond comprehension as he knew he needed to do more before being able to wipe The Hopper off the face of the Earth. “Fuck you asshole. I’m finding your body and I am going to make you pay,” David said as his emotions seemed to be getting the best of him. Holding the shotgun in his one arm, David exited the garage as The Hopper continued to tease David from inside. “Good luck detective. Hope you don’t end up like that failure of a detective you called a father.” David held his head down low as he walked down the driveway and towards his car. He looked around as he did so, taking in his surroundings as he thought about the entire encounter. Not only was he face to face with The Hopper, he now knew who actually killed his father. David entered his police car and needed a minute to think. The more he thought, the angrier he got. Eventually, it boiled over as he began to punch at his steering wheel. The Hopper’s laugh rung throughout his head as he thought about how much he needed to catch The Hopper. He knew he needed to do it, even if it was the last thing he ever did as a detective. As David sat there in his car, his phone began to ring. Looking down at it, David noticed it was the police chief calling. “Hey chief, you need something?” The other side of the line was silent. “Chief?” The phone was still quiet. As David was about to hang up, he heard the chief’s voice speak. “87 Chester Avenue. It all ends,” The police chief said he hung up right after. The phone call sent shivers down David’s spine as the voice of the chief seemed oddly creepy. Looking up the address the chief gave him, David noticed the address was tied to a warehouse. Confused, David just went with what he was instructed to do and began to make his way to the spot. |
