The perfect setting makes for a perfect celebration

"But we could have the ceremony out in the garden, decked out with garlands of—"

"Just stick to the plan, Molly."

Molly scowled at her partner. "You never have any imagination."

"It was agreed the wedding would be in the hall and the reception outside, if the weather permits. Just stick to the instructions for a change, will you please? This is the most important wedding of our lives, you know."

Molly grumbled some more, but she said nothing.

Murphy looked over at Molly and smiled. "Tell you what, go get the garden arbor and we'll put it here on the stage to stand under. Then you can do some garlands. Will that satisfy your 'creativity?'"

Molly clapped her chubby little hands together and smiled like a cherub. "I knew you'd come around! Everything will be perfect!"

At six thirty, a mere hour before the ceremony, the arrangements were complete. The chairs were all neatly lined up, each with a name card for a guest, each covered in a white satin. The podium was draped with a deep blue cloth, white initials of the celebrants emblazoned in calligraphy.

The guests began to arrive. There weren't many—only a handful of closest friends and family. They didn't have to wait long. At precisely seven o'clock, the pastor took to the podium, and music began to play. Everyone turned to watch the small procession make their slow way up the short aisle. The couple, exquisitely dressed and coiffed, stepped up onto the step in front of the pastor to embrace their future.

As they stood beneath the white garlanded arch, and the pastor began. "Molly Burgen, do you take this woman, Murphy Dennigham to be your lawfully wedded wife…?"
