Shopping

“This is a strange place,” said Ted.

“You’ve never been here before?” asked Frank.

“I don’t think so…”

“My father brings me here all the time. They have great things in here!”

“Like what? I don’t even know what these things are…”

“Well, I don’t either, it’s stuff for fixing things. Like if your doorknob broke, you’d come here and a get a new doorknob.”

“Doorknobs break? I didn’t know doorknobs could break!”

“Well, most things can break, they just don’t usually. But when something does break Dad always came here for the parts to fix it.”

“And you think they will be able to fix…”

“Of course! It’s a fix it place! That’s why I told you to get your money, and I have mine too and we’ll just get what we need to fix it.”

“Do you know what we’ll need?”

“No but the people who work here do. Dad always asks them.” Then in a low voice Frank said what his father always said, “I got a broken something, can you tell me what I need…”

“Oh, ok, let’s try…”

They walked up to a guy and Frank talked, “Can you help us out? We need to fix something…”

“Sure!” said the guy, smiling. “What is it that is broken?”

“The refrigerator.”

The man pursed his lips for a minute, then said, “What part of the refrigerator?”

“I’m not sure, it’s not cold anymore.”

“You know… we don’t have that part, but I think your parents know how to fix that…”

“Oh, we didn’t want to tell them, I guess we have to…”

“Yes, and the quicker the better!” he said, trying not to laugh.

It was a long day for Frank at Franks house, especially since Ted suddenly decided to go home once they got there…
