Our Armed Forces: A Celebrated Light

A poem for our armed forces, a celebrated light atop our planet.

On this Veterans Day,
Millions of Americans honor and celebrate
The nation’s service men and women
Whose tremendous sacrifice
And courage have conveyed
The ultimate strength, commitment,
And valor.
America’s vision has been secured
By its exceptional leadership -
Bridges and roads are being constructed,
Weapons, ships, tanks, and planes
Are being funded and brought to light,
Recruitment has focused on poise
And acts of diplomacy,
And methods of involvement are thoroughly
Being questioned for impunity…
The earthly signals of an advantageous
And possible end to war are coming to fruition…
And survivors of the most grossly cruel battles
Can further the citizenry’s accountability…

The zenith of the planet’s combative measures
Managing to procure a nation’s safety,
Capacity, and pride…

The enlightened economic verity, caring,
And vision crafting an alternate reality;
The most God-driven, jubilant,
And hard fought victories.

A level of authority
Less taxing and humbling to all…
The historic leadership of a nation atop
Freedom’s storied
And mountainous terrain -

Etched in the time scape
Of its lethal and impressive pinnacle…
The bold and mighty
Gentlemen and ladies
Of America’s timeless light!
