A Story for Children

Soniya was happy.
Her parents were going away for their weekly shopping. And she would have the whole house to herself for at least two hours. Which means freedom from home work for that much period for this seven-year-old child!
Yahoo!
The plan is all set. She would plop down before TV. And then she would happily get lost in the delightful world of Tom and Jerry show on the cartoon network for an hour at least. She loved the dear mouse, Jerry and always took his side.
Next few minutes saw her going to window and peeping from behind curtain. Yes, dad’s white esteem was easing out of the drive way. Mom was seated beside her.
So, all is clear now for the blissful hour! Soniya takes the remote in hand and switches on the TV. But what’s this? The screen is locked! A screen saver is flashing instead, “I am not going anywhere. Get back to your homework.”
Ouch, mom wins!
Always!
