a follow up to As Seen From Above |
| As Seen from Below From the crest of an unnamed mountain, An aiguille of familiar angst Slinks skyward; Scoured granite fingertips Clinging to the cirrostratus, Craggy cliffs crumbling the space between celestial and corporeal- Coaxing celestial currents to cleave Identical lacerations to those in the limestone next in line to crumble; To send sundering shards of silicon from their seat at the soul of the stratosphere- Fatefully floorward To face the frostbitten foot of its silty spire Preserving the supernal desire to sojourn in the cycle of condensation and precipitation, Proclaiming its purported pleasure In contemplating the circuitous course of a cirrus cluster While concealing its caches of concupiscence To be liberated of its earthen bindings And ebb to the edges of the exosphere With each pebble purged, Plunged passively to its sandy sepulcher, The mountain strode ever closer to filling the rift Between its stoic, subastral source And the noctilucent nebulous Tempting one more stone to sacrifice its sovereignty So that the sierra may someday know only the meanderings of migratory clouds |
