and the next day

.
.
Where is the beauty in the clouds

that hide the rain.

Where are the blues in a sky

that hides the clouds.

There is a highway

that stretches out before us.

Disappearing into the thunder

we dodge the lightning, that would

sear our souls to this earth.

Gone are the days of empathy,

replaced by impatience.

Gone are the days of impatience,

replaced by intolerance.

There is a river

that bends before us.

Disappearing into the mist

we dodge the rapids that would

cast us out.

The earth is shaking in fear.

With nothing left but a mortals death.
