Bringing the headers together.

It is just at the beginning of everything,
It is just a description of what it is,
A brief description, short description, a reel,
A peak, a glimpse of what comes next.

It holds everything all up and together,
Crossing, supporting, bearing the weights,
Rafters, studs, joist, all held together,
Helms, bits and pieces, held by the header.

If it needs to be trimmed and pruned,
The head could be cut off and removed,
It could all be gathered together and moved,
But who would do this without the header?

Windows hinged, doubles and singles,
Doors hinged, doubles and singles,
All exits and entrances sealed and unsealed,
Beams hold them together, just the header.

Walls are raised, fences and short walls,
Some raised high, some raised low,
Some slanted, some erect, fancied or plain,
At the top, stands the wedge that holds.

Take the time and go through it all,
Again and again, up, down, slow and steady,
Take a look, a close look at the heading,
It seems to have little to do with the text.
