Friends, here is a nice story for children, Happy Reading!

The eleven-year-old Minu was busy painting with her black spectacles glinting in the light. She was a perfectionist. The moment she sat down to paint, she forgot all about time to give her best. And at this young age, she already aspired to join the ranks of modern art. She had shared her ambition with her family several times.

Today, Minu had finished sketching a cone-shaped island with vibrant greenery, tall cliffs , and a sandy beach. Now she was busy mixing colours to get the right shade for sunset over the sea.

So far, so good. Now, Minu found that her Camlin water colours were not sufficient for the delicate shade she wanted. A dash of saffron from Mom’s kitchen was needed to get the golden tint she wanted. She knew that, if she asked, Mom would refuse. Because, in the past, she had raided the kitchen far too often for Mom’s taste.

Minu, therefore, was forced to think of piracy. And her choice fell on her younger sister, Binu. This five-year-old, with her nimble fingers and agile feet, was much better at these things. Promising Binu her favourite mango ice-cream as her reward, she went for her bath.

As soon as Minu left, the young would-be pirate’s eyes fell on the colour palette of her ‘Didi.’ Next, her eyes noticed the Camlin colour box. At once, her eyes lit up with mischief!

‘Ah,’ she reasoned, ‘why go to the trouble of stealing when a much easier solution lies right at hand?’ And thus, she proceeded to mix the colours with all her creativity and apply them to Minu’s picture with the free abandon of a child. The final result was a brilliant piece of “Modern Art,” with all the colours in the Camlin box present on the canvas at the same time!

When Minu came back from her bath, her pale face and wide eyes took in the fact that her painting already stood “completed.” And nearby stood Binu, smiling that innocent smile only a mischievous five-year-old can smile.

Who knew that Minu’s aspiration to join the ranks of modern art would stand fulfilled so soon?
