Traditional poem
Christmas holiday for me
Is a time of good cheer,
A time for joy
Not a time for fear.
Christians celebrate
The birth of their Lord,
We give thanks to Our Father
In one accord.
As a gesture of love
To family and friends,
We exchange gifts and feast
From morn 'til days end.

Whilst we who have all
Party the day,
There are some less fortunate
Not far away.
There are those without homes
Who live on the street,
Ones without food
Or shoes on their feet.
There are those who are shunned
'Cos they're different from us,
We'd hate to sit next
To them on the bus !

Christ was born in a stable
In Bethlehem
To teach us there is no
You, us and THEM.
He came to this earth
To show us God's love,
To show us the teachings
Of Our Father above.

Snow, holly and mistletoe
Turkey and wine,
Toys for the children
Tree lights that shine.
As we exchange gifts
Eat our fill at the table,
Let's give God the praise
That we are able.
