A ray of sunshine in the gloom

She walked and walked and walked, covering miles upon miles. Oblivious to the fact that she had blisters on her feet, her clothes was soaked wet with sweat. She kept muttering... "No, no, no, I'll get there, just a mile more, I'll get there". She was aiming to get to the end of the world or the end of the road, maybe.
Life had dealt her a hard blow, no family, no friends. Her parents died when she was merely a teenager and that forced her into an early marriage. But then, she watched her husband and two kids die from an outbreak of yellow fever. The last straw that broke the camel's back was the death of her last child right before her eyes and in her arms.
She rose from there and walked, maybe hoping to get to the end of the world if there was one or maybe just walking until she slumped and died out of exhaustion.
"Asari! Asari! ", she heard that as if it was in a dreamland. Some thing kept telling her, " That's your name, answer. ...answer. She slowly drifted out of her reverie when she felt herself being enveloped in a bear hug.
"Asari, it's me, Eme, I've searched for you everywhere". This was her childhood friend, Eme, that life had dealt favourably with.
Eme then took a long look at her, the dishevelled look, her wet clothes, blistered feet and eyes like deep, dark, bleak holes.
Asari responded, " Eme, Eme, I have to get to the end, there's nothing else left for me here, I just need to get there".
Eme embraced her again and said, "we will get there, for now, just relax, release, breath".
It was then it came, she heaved, a groan and released, torrents flowed and kept pouring. Like a barricaded walls of a dam that just gave way, the tears flowed and flowed.
" Asari, I'm here now, I see light, I bring hope, yes, hope. Relax.... Breath.... Just breath.... Breath".
