"I love you" is a sentence so precious to hear Complicated at times, as it can bring happiness just like it can bring fear Pain seems to have been a constant consequence of that sentence as well Be it that of departure, that of concern about your beloved or that of living with so much to say yet unable to tell "I love you" is just such a magical order of words, one that spurs both confusion and wonder Said with the same passion to different people in different situations, lighting up hearts like the stars we live under "I love you" is that kind of statement that at times is bittersweet Said even in farewells between us, even while knowing that again we won't meet Such an irony indeed, that the most beautiful feeling can also give birth to the ugliest of thoughts and experiences Ones in which we're desperate, feeling beyond help with hearts full of grievances If we're to trace how exactly love hurts, then there is always a common answer "Never coming back" is the thought root cause to those pains, stubbornly sticking to our souls like cancer You fear letting go, even if you have to You fear losing it to death, even though that's a destination everyone is headed to You fear the loneliness without it, to lose the hope you have long since clung to You fear and you fear times and times again, swinging between emotions like on a drug you're addicted to Simply put: it's the loss of that love that is the problem Like a monarch who could care less about the throne, as long as he gets to keep his kingdom But understand that what's gone is gone, there is no undoing the past You can only look ahead to the future, and work slowly to recover as real recovery is never fast After all that's a given, considering the beautiful feeling that you lost Yet live regardless, as there might just be love again ahead, one that till the end of your days can last And given the possible reward, I think it's worth the patience to stand strong and steady So let things flow along the river of life, never force feelings, and take the chance when you're ready Love has been like wings to some, but to others is like a chain they can't seem to break or crack For many reasons, most notably is holding on to a past that, sadly, is Never Coming Back... |
