A conversation between Odysseus and Desdemona. |
SECERTS OF THE SIRENS!!!! (This is an out-of-context spoiler, and it will be from a different perspective. I'm relying on you guys for edits.) Desdemona stood, leaning over the side of the boat. Her shoulder-length, choppy brown hair waved in the wind. Her brown cloak flew with it, and she smiled. Odysseus walked over to see what was happening. Desdemona had seldom spoken since Polites died. "What's up?" Said the brilliant Odysseus. His short, brown hair was long enough to fly in the wind now. His deep purple cloak flapped, like it was going to fly away. "The sky. And the water's down," Desdemona replied wistfully. "I don't know where my heart is, though. I woke up, and the heaviness had left. It's like someone removed while I slept." Odysseus just smiled and looked at his friend. "What were your dreams like?" Odysseus asked slyly. "I had none," Desdemona replied, "That's the best part! No Polyphemus, no witches or prophets. No more Scylla or pictures of Polites' death. No more screams, just sleep. "I wish I could believe that," Odysseus said sassily. "Now, what did you dream about?" They were close to an island then, and Odysseus paused to tell the crew to steer around it. "Men, Tiresias told me to avoid this island, for we will never survive! Go around it!" "No, my friend! We are tired and hungry! Let us rest for a little while, and then get back on the sea!" Said Eurylochus, angrily. The crew started to agree with Eurylochus, and Odysseus finally agreed. "On one condition!" Odysseus shouted. "What is it?" Asked Eurylochus. "No one may touch the cows. They are the sun gods!" "We have food here, why would we use anything on the island?" Said Eurylochus. "Believe me, you would," Desdemona muttered, still looking towards the sea. She refused to look towards the sky, in fear of the blush that would come. She indeed did have a dream the night before, and Hermes was involved. She had no idea why, but when the dream ended, she wished she could go back to sleep, just to see Hermes's face again. |
