Pentecost Is Still Here!

A poem about Pentecost based on Acts 2.

Oh, to hear the sound from heaven!
It was like the mighty rushing wind!
It filled the house where they were sitting.
The tongues of fire above were also felt within!

The Holy Spirit gave them another language,
To speak to all the people of every other tongue.
They could all understand the Gospel clearly.
Many people turned to Jesus both old and young.

The disciples told the people of all the wonderful works of God.
It sparked up quite a commotion as the leaders found it odd.
They accused them of being drunk in the middle of the day.
God had said that he would poor out his Spirit in the last days!

Young men would see visions; old men would dream dreams.
In the Spirit, they would prophesy and do many wonderful things.
Jesus Christ as the Messiah is the message's unchanging theme.
He came in the flesh, died, arose again, and now we can sing!

There is no other name by which we must be saved!
May the Holy Spirit guide us and fill us every day!
The Lord still adds to his church whoever will be saved!
Open up your heart and let Jesus show you the way!
