Developing Action

Event 1: Takara has celebrated his 12th birthday and it's the beginning of another school year, so it's now time for his Ceremony of Destiny, an event where all those who have celebrated their 12th birthday in the last year receive divine oracles that tell them about any gifts that they have been blessed with and if they have been given divine destinies or requests from the gods. He walks into the auditorium and takes his seat. Those around him are staring, pointing, and giggling or making comments about how they think its a joke that he's at the ceremony because of his challenges, including the fact that he needs a device to speak for him.

Event 2: The Minister calls for silence and the whole auditorium goes quiet and all attention turns to him. He explains the story of how one day long ago the rest of Star City fell into darkness and became sealed off and how no one has gone in or come out since. When it happened a wise man received a divine message telling him to inform the people of the Aurora District to conduct this ceremony for one day someone would appear who would possess the power to reawaken the rest of the city. This individual would be the city's only hope of reuniting. However, there are also forces that wish to destroy Star City and all who reside here, so sentries are needed to defend the city and its inhabitants. Inspite of the rest of the city being sealed off, the city wall is completely accessible, so the guards of the Aurora district fulfill the duties of the entire wall, protecting even those that are sealed away.

Event 3: They begin the Ceremony, calling up each individual to stand on a crystal structure. As the individual stands on it it glows in various colours and with different levels of intensity. When the light fades they leave the stage and return to their seats. in the light divine messages are communicated to a person's mind telling them anything the divine wishes to ask them to do. For this reason many close their eyes to concentrate on listening for their divine message. Takara's name gets called and as he heads up many more start commenting on him being there. Many of the kids know he uses a device to communicate and quite a few parents, and many believe him to not be very intelligent or capable, and because of this they believe he shouldn't be there. He goes up, stands on the crystal structure, and while others only had 1 colour in their glow, the crystal begins glowing like if a kaleidoscope of lights, giving the most dazzling light display anyone's ever seen. Merlin, in the audience, suddenly shows a great deal of interest in this and sits up in his seat, his eyes now fixed on Takara as he returns to his seat.
