Watching the prey become the predator.

I’ve seen a thousand monsters growing,
Reaching for something undefined
Impure, inevitable. I watch, knowing,
They’re reaching for something predefined.

“Anatomy of evil,” they call it,
But the childlike innocence
Of a predestined evil spirit
Might leave room for indifference

Because it’s so hard not to love the predator,
It’s hard not to stay,
When you know the reason they’re the predator
Is because they used to be the prey.
