Just things that I think about now and then.

This is the first blog entry for me. Hopefully I will get it right, or at least head in that direction.

I am enjoying this community immensely. I have found a few kindred souls, and so far everyone has been welcoming. I am enjoying reviewing other's work. I hope to learn as I go from the reviews of my work. It is fun to see other's points of view, and inspires me to try to do my best.

I am looking forward to my journey here on Writing.com

Sister Amy, thank you for this encouraging post. I hope it will be helpful to note, that Holy Week and Passover do not coincide this year. Passover 2024 comes at the end of April because the Children of Israel observe the lunar calendar.

Not to sound negative or anything, but what if, by chance, you get a new muse and then Marbles shows up and convinces the new muse to go on vacation with her? Of course, it may work opposite and Marbles will get jealous of the new muse and start doing her job!

How nice to be remembered.... Thank you Kare. And you are very right, Cinqku is a made-up name. The form is a Haiku Wannabee. Invented by American poet Denis Garrison. It is not a traditional form such as the haiku, Sonnet, or Villanelle that were recognized and named over time because of imitation of favored patterns. Invented forms are a more recent phenomenon, used by educators and modern poets who create and name a unique pattern, then invite others to follow with their a poem in the same pattern. Honestly some invented verse forms, in my opinion, are kind of contrived, some hokey, and many improperly described.

But some like the Cinqku are fun to emulate and produce some very nice poems. Just like this one that you share. Love the "cold solstice winds"

I write Japanese haiku and 2-4-6-8-2 cinquains. This? I haven't.

Personally, I don't see the two parts. Tinker would be able to give advice. I wish she were more active here... and running the Oriental Poetry Contest like before.

It's so great to have you back! I'm sure your Marbles will turn up soon. You mentioned crocheting, maybe crochet a nice sack to keep your Marbles in.

Certain individuals have thought I'd lost all my marbles years ago, but I've kept one marble on my dresser for years,. The other day I noticed it's missing, I may have to order some from Amazon...

You kind of have a job. You have to take care of you. Someone should be paying you to do that, It's important. Keep on keepin on, it's one of the hardest daily jobs I know.
