For my blog

Take UP Your Cross

Prompt:
Proverbs 3:9-10
9 Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

Some people believe these two verses have to do with tithing. What are your thoughts? What do you think about tithing?

Answer:
I personally have mixed feelings on this subject of tithing. I believe there are a lot of pastors and institutions who use tithing as a means of selfish gain. On the other hand, I do feel we should regularly and faithfully give back to God.

These verses to me are saying that if we honor the Lord first with everything we gain, we will be blessed abundantly. I think I will choose to leave it open for interpretation to the reader how they intend to honor God first with all they gain.

PROMPT May 21st

Write an open letter to a person or group of people you strongly disagree with and explain why. Use reason not emotion.

Maybe this will be therapeutic. I considered not doing this because I don't like to focus on the negative, but then a specific person reminded me today that I really don't like them. If Will Rogers had met and got to know this person, I would say he would have found a man he would not like. If anyone does like this man, there is something seriously wrong with them. I have had my belly full of this person. If it were left up to me alone, I would completely disassociate myself with them. However, they happen to be related to someone who is very important to me so I continue to look the other way as much as I can. But I don't know how much longer I can sit quietly by and not say anything. This might be a long one guys, but you asked for it.

On second thought, maybe I should keep this to myself because I am very angry about and at this person right now. Even though he disgusts me, I shouldn’t talk bad about him. Grrr! I need to find some balance here. In Psalms, David prayed curses upon the wicked and upon his enemies, but I don't know where to draw the line here. I would say this person is extremely deceitfully wicked. He causes more harm than good even to his own family. I can't hardly stand it. I am really trying to control myself, but this is one of those people that make you feel homicidal. He is someone who is living because murder is against the law and I am sure I am not the only one feeling that way. Now I hope nothing happens to him because I said that. Lol For the record, I didn't say I intend to follow through.

Scripture writing - Luke 10:16-20

Scripture:
16 He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.
17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

Observations:
Verse 16- If they despise me, they despise Jesus. If they despise Jesus, they despise God the Father.
Verse 17- The 70 disciples he sent out were excited that the devils listened to them and they were able to cast them out.
Verse 18- Jesus was there in person when Satan was cast out of heaven, proving his pre-existence.
Verse 19- Jesus gave them power over these things and more.
Verse 20- Jesus told them not to rejoice that the spirits were obedient to them, but that they were saved.

Application:
We have power over evil spirits when we are saved, but we should rejoice in the fact that we are saved not in the fact that we have power over spirits.

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thanks for saving us. Thank you for your deliverance from evil.
In Jesus’s name,
Amen

. What does your heart tell you?

My heart can tell me many things. Do I trust it 100%? No, the Bible says it is deceitful above all things. Who can know it? (Jeremiah 17:9) Also, if you want to know what is in your heart, listen to what comes from your mouth. (Matthew 15:18) Yet, so often, we are told to follow our heart. I say if you are going to follow your heart, you had better make sure your brain is with you all the way.

Take UP Your Cross

Prompt:
Proverbs 3:7-8
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

What does it mean to be wise in my own eyes? What do these verses mean?

Answer:
Consider the fact of what 2 verses come right before this. Proverbs 3:5-6. Trust in the Lord and lean not unto your own understanding In all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your path. Then we are to fear the Lord and depart from evil. Don't be wise in your own eyes or lean unto your own understanding. It doesn't matter how much you think you know or understand. Always talk to God first. Put away pride. God will either confirm your wisdom or reveal hidden foolishness. God looks at the intention of the heart. He will direct your path.

PROMPT May 20th

What does happiness mean to you? Reflect back on a specific moment when you felt unconditionally happy. What circumstances made you feel that way?

Not everyone has had the privilege of this experience. Happiness doesn't come to some as easily as others. Some people literally have to put forth huge efforts just to be a little happy. They say happiness is a choice.

When you add that descriptive word of unconditional, this is even harder to achieve. I ask myself if I even know what “unconditional” happiness is. I am not even sure I can answer that appropriately. I will tell you what I think it is. I think it is a state of happiness where you remain happy even when bad things happen. It is a secure happiness.

I believe as a Christian, I should be able to achieve this state, but I don't know that I have completely been there yet. God is still working on me. I think the closest I have ever come to this is when my faith in Christ is activated and I have a peace that passes all understanding and a knowing that everything will be okay no matter what because God has got this.

Scripture writing - John 16:31-33

Scripture:
31 Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?
32 Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Observations:
Verse 31- Good question. Do you believe?
Verse 32- People may abandon us, but God is always with us.
Verse 33- Jesus wants us to have peace. He knows we will have trials and tribulations, but through him we have the victory.

Application:
Jesus wants us to be at peace and in good cheer. He wants us to be happy. He overcame the world so we can have life more abundantly.

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Let me feel your presence and know I am not alone in this world. It is one thing to know something but another to feel it. I want to feel it.
In Jesus’s name,
Amen

This one is kind of a difficult one for me at the moment. I can't say everything I would want to say to the child because I will get all emotional. I am emotional enough at the moment. I won’t go into my reasons why right now. I would let them know that I loved them, and I would promise to do my best. That is about as far as I can go with this. It is a touchy subject for me.

Take UP Your Cross

Prompt:
Proverbs 3:3-4
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

How do you bind mercy and truth around your neck and write them on the table of thine heart?

Answer:
Everything you do should be done in mercy, truth, and love. If you will notice, these are fruits of the Spirit. So if you live in the Spirit of Christ, you will be able to wear these traits like a garment.

PROMPT May 19th

Write about the most historic world events of your lifetime. How are they (or will they be) remembered? What will the history books focus on?

I have lived through several historical events. I was born in December 1976, so anything that has happened from 1977 and beyond, I been around for it. 😊 The first major thing I remember, and very vaguely, is when Elvis died. I didn't understand what was going on at the time. I just new it was all over the news and a lot of people were upset by it.

The next thing I remember is when the space shuttle exploded in the 80s. I was in 3rd grade. The teacher brought a tv into the classroom where we all watched the reports as it was happening for at least a couple of hours.

The next thing I remember very well was Operation Desert Storm. I was in junior high and there was a tv placed outside the classrooms so we could all catch up with what was happening between classes.

The next very rememerable thing was the Murrah Federal Building bombing. This overshadowed my graduation from high school in 1995 as it occurred just 1 month and 1 day before my graduation. I was living close enough to where it occurred that it made me almost fall off my feet from the ground shaking so hard.

You see? I was homeschooling my last year of high school. At 9:02 am on April 19th, I was taking a shower. The ground shook hard. I grabbed the bathroom sink to keep from falling out of the shower. It sounded like a huge roar of thunder. I couldn't imagine what that was about, but I had a strange gut feeling that something had changed.

I finished up my shower, got dressed, went to my bedroom intending to begin working on schoolwork, and then I turned on the radio. This is when I discovered what had happened. So I rushed into the living room to turn on the news channel. I was in shock I think about what I saw on the tv. Pictures of the building blown half to bits flashed before my eyes with pictures of rubble and people and children covered in blood. They were still try to recover people and bodies, and body parts from the pile of debris. It was a very heartbreaking day. Needless to say, I did not get much schoolwork done as me and my family sat watching and praying for the victims.

For days afterward we continued to follow the news coverage. We watched news reports as people who were injured or lost loved ones told their stories. We heard from a friend who was an undertaker tell of the nightmare stories of holding the funerals for some of the children and people killed. We heard so many stories.

A man I went to church with was requesting prayer for his grieving son who had been late for work that morning and now was dealing with survivor’s guilt. He worked at the building, and had co-workers killed.

A girl I graduated with lost her father. He had also worked there.

I had a cousin who worked right across the street in the journal records building which was also damaged. Thankfully, she was not in her office at the time because it had been damaged. The windows were blown out. She happened to be at the courthouse, 5 blocks away when it happened.

You may ask, where was God? God was right there in the middle of the action. It did not take him by surprise. I don't know why he chose to take the people he did and save others. I just know he did save others. They still had a purpose on this earth because he kept them from being where they would have been hurt. All I know is everything happens for a purpose, and He does work out everything for good for those who are called according to his purpose. I have seen it with my own eyes.

One thing I hope we learn from this is be kind and understanding. One issue was that everyone was turning on their headlights in honor of those killed. The problem with that was this is how people also know a funeral procession is in progress. So with everyone having their headlights on, no one knew who was part of the funeral and who wasn’t. This created even more chaos for the greiving families.

I had the privilege of answering some of the letters from other junior high and high school students that poured in from around the country. One of the ladies I went to church with asked me to help her respond to these letters. She worked for the city and was involved in getting the letters answered. She had said she had so many, she didn't know what to do with all of them. So my mother and I helped her reply to several. I am grateful for that experience.

Wow! This is about to turn into a book itself. Maybe I should write a static item about it. To make a long story short, I guess this is the event that affected me personally the most until last year and the pandemic. I was working in a mall when the twin towers were struck. That's another interesting story. 😊 I have lived through several major events in my lifetime. I am going to stop here because this is getting very long.

Hoping to find riches at the end of a rainbow
#1278682 by Thaddeus Buxton Winthrop

Write about this item in your Blog entry today.

So many people hope to get rich quick. If you can not manage your money well now, what makes you think winning the lottery, finding gold at the end of a rainbow, or inheriting a large sum would change things forever? The reality is that it would be a temporary fix. Money will eventually run out. If you don't manage it well, it certainly won't last very long. With more belongings and money come more responsibility, but a lot of people fail to realize this.

I would plant squash, tomatoes, and cucumbers at least. Cucumbers grow on a vine so they will need something to attach to or they will end up everywhere. I learned this the hard way. Lol If you plant carrots or potatoes, root plants, you will want to make sure you remove all the rocks from your soil. Make sure you pay attention to how much sun each type of plant needs and place it strategically. Some plants need more sun than others. For example, cucumbers like some sun and some shade. They will burn with too much sun. Sometimes you learn by just doing it. Don't be afraid to try and fail. We can learn from our failures and do it better next time.

Prompt:
Proverbs 3:1-2
1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

What are these verses saying to you personally?

Answer:
The phrase, “but let thine heart keep my commandments”, stands out to me. I believe this is saying that I will have a long life and peace if I keep God's commandments in my heart and do them. Keeping His commandments in my heart is more than just memorizing, reading, and knowing them. It is loving and cherishing them too. It is steering them at a high value.

Scripture writing - John 10:7-10

Scripture:
7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Observations:
Verse 7- You have to go through the door to get to the sheep. Jesus is that door.
Verse 8- The sheep only listens to the shepherds voice.
Verse 9- If we come to Jesus, He will lead us into the fold and bring us out to find pasture.
Verse 10- Theives only come in to kill, steal, or to destroy. Jesus has come so that we can have life. We not only can have life but a more abundant one.

Application:
Follow Jesus, the good shepherd.

Prayer:
Dear God,
Thank you for saving me. Let me only listen to your voice. Lead me into good pasture and beside still waters.
In Jesus Christ’s name,
Amen

PROMPT May 16th

What do you do to make the world a better place?

The world is a better place just because I am in it. Lol I really hope that is true though. I do want the world to be a better place because Iam in it.

I try to make it better by being kind to others. I help people when I have the ability to do so when I see they need help. I try to be a marvelous friend. I tend to draw in those less fortunate. I try to love others the way God loves me.

On WDC, I do a few different things. I offer to pray for those who need it. I write a new Bible study every week. I pray others are blessed by the things I write. I can be painfully blunt at times, but it is truly because I care. If I say it, I intend to mean it. Why waste my energy on something I don't mean?

I have spent a good part of my life taking care of others. I helped care for my grandmother, an aunt, a cousin, and friends. I have lost jobs to help others. I cared for my best friend’s mom when she was sick with cancer. I helped take care of her nieces and nephews. I have cared for elderly acquaintances. I now care for my best friend. I am starting to feel like I need someone to care for me though, lol.

I try to encourage and inspire others. I give compliments to strangers. I look for opportunities to make a difference in someone else's life. There are opportunities every day if we just look for them. I have paid it forward. I have given water to a person on the street just because they asked for it. You have to be willing to help others when they need it. I give and except nothing in return knowing my Father in Heaven has my back.

I try not to whine too much or complain. I try to keep negativity to myself. Everything we do has some kind of impact on others rather we are aware of it or not. I try to keep this in mind. It is so easy to get wrapped up in your own feelings and forget that there are others around you.

I try to be a light in a dark world. I want to see others accept Christ as their Savior. I want to help others grow in their relationship with God. I want to see God work in the lives of other people, and would love for Him to use me to do so. I want to see people healed and strongly experience the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 5:14
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Prompt:
Deuteronomy 23:12-14
12 Thou shalt have a place also without the camp, whither thou shalt go forth abroad:
13 And thou shalt have a paddle upon thy weapon; and it shall be, when thou wilt ease thyself abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which cometh from thee:
14 For the Lord thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee.

God cares about cleanliness and sanitation. Write about a time you experienced an unsanitary situation and what you did about it. What are your thoughts on verse 14? How can we apply it to our lives today?

Answer:
Unfortunately, I have found myself in a lot of positions I did not want to be in. I could tell of several. 🤢 In one situation, I had to go help a person I know move out of their condemned house. Since I didn't own a hazmat suit, I used what I had. I put on jeans, a long sleeve shirt, shoes, and socks. I wore a baseball cap, and put on a facemask and work gloves. When I was finished, I immediately changed clothes, kept those items in a trash bag until they come be washed, and took a shower. This house was disgusting. It had bugs; ant, roaches, spiders, bed bugs, and water bugs. The toilet was not able to be flushed so you know what was there. There were dirty dishes in the bath tub since the kitchen sink was stopped up. There was trash and cobwebs in the bedrooms. There was raw sewage and water standing in the garage. Dog pee and feces were all over the floor and walls. Yeah, it was bad. I don't think I need to discuss the smell. This is probably one of the worse unsanitary situations I have ever been in. Let's just say, whatever you do, you don't think about what you are standing in or near. You keep focused on the task at hand which was getting all the salvageable personal belongings out.

They say cleanliness is next to godliness. My thoughts on applying this to our lives is that God can not stand filth. If you want to draw closer to God, be clean. Bathe regularly. Keep your surroundings neat and clean. This is pleasing to God. He does care about our personal hygiene.

PROMPT May 17th

“Nothing of me is original. I am the combined effort of everyone I’ve ever known.” — Chuck Palahniuk

Read this article and share your thoughts about how the people in your life have had an impact on you.

“They’ve all helped me grow, become more resilient, and many supporting me when I most needed it. I’ve learned, matured, and became wiser thanks to my interactions with them.”

https://medium.com/change-your-mind/we-are-a-mosaic-of-everyone-weve-ever-loved-...

Well, I couldn't get the article to come up for me so I guess I will just write about what I can see. This is kind of an open-ended topic. Some of us could write a book on it, but I don't have time to write a book today.

I could talk of my mom and dad since they raised me. I could talk of my grandmothers who each had their own special influence. I could speak of aunts, uncles, and cousins. I could share stories of friends and acquaintances.
I could tell about many teachers that I have crossed paths with. I could go on and on telling about preachers, church song leaders, deacons, elders, Sunday school teachers, camp sponsors, cops, soldiers, and boyfriends.

There have been many people who have influenced my life, some in good ways, and some in bad ways. It is a common theory for people to believe you are a product of your environment. In some ways you are. On the other hand, while we don't get to choose what happens to us in our circumstances, we do get to choose how we respond. We can let it make us or break us.

I choose to let it make me stronger. I choose to be a better person in spite of the bad things that have happened to me. I refuse to live my life as a victim, a victim of my circumstances, of abuse, etc... Have I been a victim? Yes, very much so, but I do not have to live as a victim every day of my life. I do not have to live in that mindset. I choose to fight back and live on.

I appreciate the good in my life. I have also had many wonderful and good influences. Some of these people have passed away and some are still living. I am very grateful for all the good experiences in my life. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves of the good experiences. It is so easy to get hung up on the negative.

I think some people have more expressive eyes than others. A lot can be seen in the eye if you look close enough. The Bible calls the eye the windows to the soul. Eyes are interesting. Some people are uncomfortable when you look into their eyes. I love to look at peoples eyes.

Proverbs 5:21-22
21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and he pondereth all his goings.
22 His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.

I was reading in Proverbs recently, and ran across these verses. I found them interesting. What do you think they mean?

Answer:
Wow! His own iniquity binds him. His sins are compared to binding cords. This brings new meaning to Jesus setting the captives free. So many times we don't want to give up our sin. It is our own sin that is keeping us bound. God sees everything that goes on. He gave us a way to freedom, but we have to be willing to embrace and accept it.

PROMPT May 15th

Many fairy tales are often based in truth. Research the true story behind your favorite fairy tale and share it with your readers. What lesson or warning was the tale trying to impart?

https://owlcation.com/humanities/goldilocks-and-three-bears

This went in circles but was quite interesting. I had no idea. It turns out Goldilocks had quite an evolution. She started out as a fox, a female fox (old vixen), then evolved into an old lady with silver hair, possibly representing a witch, then she evolved again into a small child with golden hair. 🤔

There were always 3 bears, but they weren't always a family or civilized. They must have been originally 3 bachelors. They were horrible house keepers, primative. I am a little confused here about what came first. The “vixen”originally came in the rob the 3 bears. Then somehow Goldilocks as a little girl came in and tidied up. Either way, the Goldilocks whoever she was ended up sleeping in the smallest bear’s bed. When caught, she supposedly escaped through the window.

I am not sure what the moral of the story is. Maybe it is that stealing is still stealing rather the door is locked or not. 🤷‍♀️ I will admit that this was an interesting subject.

Take UP Your Cross

Prompt:
Matthew 8:28-34
28 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.
29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
30 And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.
31 So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.
32 And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.
33 And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils.
34 And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts.

How would you react if you saw something like this occur?

Answer:
I don't know I would want the person who did the miracle like that to leave. He did good thing. I think the people were afraid of him because of it though. So instead of embracing him and the experience, they wanted him to leave. What or who would be committing suicide next. I imagine it was quite a site. I think this is one of those times where you really don't know how you would react until it happened to you. I can not help but try to picture it in my head what it must have been like to see something like that. Wow!

PROMPT May 14th

If animals could talk, which animal would you want to have a conversation with? What would you ask?

Believe it or not, my dog is very smart. She has figured out how to say certain words. (momma, love you, outside, come on, uh-huh, huh-a, and hungry) I communicate with her all the time. She also can shake her head yes and no.

Even when they can’t physically speak comprehensible words, animals have a none-verbal language that can be heard if you know how to listen and observe. Just as a baby communicates in crys, grunts, or other sounds, animals do too.

I guess I am just a strange one. I even talk to the birds if they will get close enough and listen. Sometimes they do. They will turn their little heads from side to side like they are trying to take in every word. I have a way with animals a lot of people just would not understand. Oh and yes, I wink back at my dog. Lol

I had birds literally singing with me at my dad’s memorial service. My family was in awe. God knew I had no background music so he provided a small choir. It was actually pretty cool. My cousin had video of it and played it back to me. I was in the moment and hadn't even noticed at the time.

You see, there was no preacher, only family gathered for mydad’s memorial. So I performed my Dad’s memorial service. My family expected me to break down crying in the middle of it, but I held it together. This would be my last chance to honor my dad this way. I got his bio together. I made his findagrave look good. I got a friend of mine to make me a video memorial with pictures and music. My dad collected poems other people wrote. He loved poetry but couldn't write it himself. I gathered some of his favorites and read them. I also led a devotion. I didn't cry until the end. My family was amazed. God is the one that held me together. You could tell he was there. It turned out beautifully.

When the family gathered at a lake house at Lake Lanier to have my dad's memorial, it was actually a good experience for me. It was like taking in a big deep breath of fresh air after feeling so burdened for so long. It was so beautiful there. I got some awesome pictures of animals there. I really need to find myself a place like that close to home where I can go decompress with nature.

Have fun with these words in your entry today: adjourn, churn, burn, turn, yearn and fern.

I may yearn to plant a fern
But in the sun I’ll burn
As I turn and churn the soil
Before I get a sunburn
My time outside should adjourn

a poem about loss. How do you deal with loss?

As of lately, not very well. There has been so much of it in my life during a short time frame. I have been diagnosed with adjustment disorder. I can accept it as part of life, but nobody said I had to like it. It is so hard to let loved ones go especially when you love them so much. There is a song by Garth Brooks that somewhat states how I feel, but of course, the song is about a lost relationship and not death. https://youtu.be/0j-T1IvBLbQ

Use these words in your entry: deceptive, receptive, perceptive, and acceptive.

Life can be deceptive. As a result, you have to be perceptive, acceptive, and receptive. However, you have to have the wisdom to know when to do what.

I have been on one heck of an emotional roller coaster this week. Ladies will understand when I say I think I may be going into perimenopause. This is not a fun ride. My friend’s mom once told me that it can make you think you are going crazy. She wasn't kidding. Wow! It has been a little hard for me to think straight the last couple of days. I have tried to keep to myself so not to take these crazy emotions out on someone else. If it isn’t perimenopause, then I guess it could just be my “major depressive disorder” as the Dr calls it, since that is all I have been diagnosed with, acting up. Whatever this is, it has been quite a ride. Can I please get off of it now?

Proverbs 15:1-3
1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
2 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

Proverbs 15:1 is a popular Bible verse. Have you ever noticed the 2 following verses? Keeping all these verses together in mind, does this give the first verse a little more meaning? What do these 3 verses mean to you?

Answer:
I think that a wise person knows what soft answer to give at the right moment. A foolish person will not be wise and possibly cause the situation to become worse. The foolish person will throw around greviousbwords loosely. The eyes of the Lord sees it all and he looks upon the intent of the heart.

PROMPT May 13th

What does it mean to be a “grown up”? What do you do regularly as an adult that you dreaded having to do when you were a child? Have you found ways to maintain a sense of childhood wonder or curiosity? If so, how?

They shut down Toys R Us. So I had to grow up. Lol Anyone who knows the theme song, will get that joke.

Washing dishes is a task that never ends. I have always hated washing the dirty dishes, but it is a necessary evil. Dishes and laundry never end.

Well, I obviously still have quite an imagination which allows me to enjoy myself on this site. I still take time to play occasionally. I love to take pictures of nature.

To me, being an adult is not forgetting to have fun. It is just being responsible. It is taking responsibility for your actions and your household. It is doing stuff without having to have supervision or being told. It is having self-discipline and self-control. You can play and be responsible at the same time. You have to have a little common sense and know how to use it.

We have to let loose and have fun as adults too. Life is hard. Why make it harder? Enjoy the good times. Learn from your mistakes. Live in the moment. Life happens one moment at a time anyway. If you worry over your past or a future moment not yet occurring, how can you appreciate the present moment you are in right now?

Prompt: Fantasy. Would you like to walk on the rings of Saturn?

That could be interesting, but never really thought about it. I probably would if I could. Why not? I betit would offer an amazing view.

I apologize folks. I had an emergency come up that I had to take care of and did not get a prompt sent out.

On my way back from a distress call, I visited a star and friend. Fivesixer (702) has a picture from an x-ray where he broke his ankle. Have you ever had metal put in you? Write about metal implants.

I have never had any implants yet. My mother had to get screws in her elbow when she had broken her arm. I the one who breaks weird bones, like the sacrum, little toe, and a finger. Lol🤷‍♀️

Prompt
Proverbs 15:13
A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

Write about what this verse means to you.

Answer:
If you are merry in your heart it will show on the outside. When your heart is sorrowful, sometimes it is even disabling. Your spirit is broken and you just don't want to put your heart into it. You don't want to do anything but grieve.

PROMPT May 12th

What TV show character would it be the most fun to change places with for a week? Why?

This is something I don't know I can answer. I am happy being me and I don't watch a lot of TV. I don't really have a desire to be anyone but me. That is the truth.

Prompt: Write the words you need to hear right now.

Dear me,

What do I need to hear today? Let's see. Don't panic. The nation may be experiencing a gas shortage, but our government has everything under control. 🤪 While you are not panicking, you might want to go finish grocery shopping that you keep putting off since the semi’s may run out of gas that deliver food to the stores. 🤔 Oh yeah, don't forget you wanted to work in the flower bed today while the temperature is cool outside and you are not panicking.

Love,
Yourself

Day 3099: May 12, 2021

Prompt: Focus on the journey, not the destination. Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it. Greg Anderson
What do you say about this idea?

I agree with it to a point. I think there is joy found in the doing and finishing. Why do It if there's no intention of finishing or at least doing it well?
