It is great that you can remove the thoughts that you don't want. Some people can't handle that and in up in depression.

There is a soul mate out there for everyone. It took me 54 years to find mine, but thank God I have him now. He is everything you wrote about and more. He married me knowing I have parkinson's, but it doesn't affect his love.

Good job with a different depth of emotion not seen every day.

The last line saying that the truth would hurt more than a lie gives a completely different aspect on looking at the poem as a whole. This leaves a openess for the imagination to wonder what else is going on.
