The Bargain
“Yes, yes! Go! Touchdown!”

“Honey, that was the other team.”

“I’m sorry. At least I am trying to watch football with you!”

He sighed, “This is about the concert, isn’t it?” His eyes didn’t leave the screen.

She smiled at him, “Maybe.”

“I hate classical music!”

She stood up and blocked the screen, “I hate football, but at least I am making an effort for you!”

“If you sit down and stop cheering for the wrong team I will go to the symphony with you.”

She smiled smugly, and sat. “Was that a fumble?”

“Yes.” His palm hit his face.
