Coffee
“Where is my coffee!” I roared after tearing the kitchen apart.

My wife entered the kitchen. “You know you’re cleaning this up.”

“Maggie!”

“The doctor told you no more coffee. Your blood pressure.”

“What do you think this is doing to my blood pressure!”

“Honey, this will pass.”

“Kidney stones pass! I want my coffee.”

“I’ll give you this.” She handed me a small canister of half-decaf.

“No, that is not coffee.”

“It is what you have.”

I made myself some. I poured it in my travel mug and left.

I dumped the cup. My first stop would be Starbucks.
