The Voice of Hope:
To 'Abdu'l-Baha

For 239 days,
he was the voice of hope
to the North American continent.

His sojourney
across America
begin on 11 April
and ended on 5 December 1912.

Two Ocean liners--
the Cedric1
and her sister ship the Celtic,2
of the White Star line--
had the blessing
of transporting him
to New York and back to Liverpool.

For 239 days,
he proclaimed
the teachings of Baha'u'llah
through his actions
and his words.

He was the voice of hope,
demonstrating racial unity,
speaking out for women's suffrage,
and announcing the need for world peace.
