This is the poetry of transformation,
the poet ry of divine love:
the common ancestor of all living things.

Atom by atom God transforms
nonexistence into existence;
nonbeing into being;
nonlife int o life.

And day by day,
prayer by prayer,
poem by poem,
I in response to the divine passion
strive for perfection;
for self-transformation.
