Just things that I think about now and then. |
| prompt: In Matthew 14:22-33, we find the story of Jesus walking on water. What lessons do you think we can take away from this story? What I take away from this story is two-fold. One, when the storms of life come (and they will, we need to look past the storm in order to see Jesus. Then, like Peter, we need to step out (in faith) and meet Jesus in our times of trouble. However, unlike Peter, we should not focus on the waves and seas that are spewing about us. By crying out to Jesus, Peter was rescued and brought back into the safety of the boat. I think too many people denigrate Peter for his lack of faith, and beginning to sink - but notice he was the only one who had faith enough to get out of the boat to come to Jesus when called. Just my thoughts. ![]() |
