Poems written for PPC 3 - 52 prompts, 52 weeks, 52 poems |
I hate poetic forms made up by unknown others and imposed on undisciplined poets. Enforcing rhythmic norms, that free expression smother, they appeal to accountants and stoics. To me they are a curse, they make me a rhyming jerk, wrestling with syllables, I tweak and twerk. I know of nothing worse, this prompt I would love to shirk, but I’ve done it now, a KERF. So much work! This week's prompt is a poetry form: KERF The Kerf poetry form is attributed to Marie Adams. Form rules: 12 lines made up of 4 tercets. syllable count 6/7/10 per line for each tercet rhyme scheme abc abc dec dec |
