Day 17 Kentucky
I offered my apologies to my fellow travelers. For years, my hubby operated an autobody shop and I've seen my fair share of Corvettes. It may well be a case of seen one, seen all. During that time I rode as a passenger and I sat behind the steering wheel. Meh, not my favourite vehicle. I see them as the Barbie car. Now, my son-in-law absolutely drools over Corvettes and teases my daughter that he will one day own one. It's nice to have dreams.
I enjoyed the underground boat tour. The concept intrigued me as I have only bobbed along in boats above the ground. Wow, just wow! Those caves are amazing. I marvel at how such enormous rock formations could have been formed. Imagine the forces needed to carve this area.
Perhaps it was the atmosphere, eerie yet beautiful. Lyn's a Witchy Woman Author Icon and WakeUpAndLive Author Icon ducked several times. That instinct to protect the ol' noggin' is strong. Our heads were on a swivel and the peripheral vision warns danger, danger as it espies rock approaching.
Sung'manitu Author Icon marveled at the gorgeous blues, greens, dare I say teals/aquamarines of that water. I made a mental note to remember those shades the next time I shop for paint.
Was it just me, or did time cease to exist as we floated along? That sudden re-entry into daylight triggered my squint. Probably not the best time for a photo op.
Briefly, I felt discombobulated when I disembarked. The everyday ability to walk seemed elusive. Eventually, by limbs propelled me along in their usual tripping style and thus I hiked the serene trails.
Colour me impressed Bowling Green, Kentucky.
