Day 50 Jackson Hole, Wyoming
Today, my adrenalin level has returned to normal. No heart-pumping exertion. This became an easy, slow-paced sort of day. I believe the true cowboys refer to what we did swaying atop agreeable horses as moseying along. Along being the glorious wide open spaces framed by the Grand Teton. I couldn't be the only one to wax poetic about that immense blue sky. It's not for nothing that our language has many words for that brilliant colour. Azure. Huh, that's most likely not a word cowboys bandy about. I could get comfortable with that swaying motion. My grinning horse took all that sidling in stride. He never once faltered or bawked. I'd describe him as laid back, chill. He never once stalled or attempted to throw be off. He plodded along as if out for a stroll. Did I mention his sweet name? Skittles. What could go wrong with a creature so named? We ambled under that gorgeous blue canopy. There was no need to hurry or scurry. There was no rush just the fulfillment of the ranch's motto. We are on cowboy time. I must admit to feeling relieved that we were not expected to herd anything, or lasso anything, or wrangle anything whatsoever. Nothing but a steady, certain pace. Later in this glorious day, Lyn's a Witchy Woman introduced me to The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. Sigh, another ear worm invaded unbidden, and persistent. Save a horse ride a cowboy.I saddledsidled sashayed ,(as if), up to the extensive bar, and dropped once again into a saddle. Interesting bar stools. Definitely shows a commitment to the theme. I swear the bartender even tipped his cowboy hat. I'm not certain, but I felt warm and tingly, so I suspect both Lyn and I blushed. No harm with a bit of flirting, eh? While in Wyoming and all that. My usually cantankerous knees indulged in some boot scootin' boogie. I'm not sure the line I created could be described as straight, and I'd go so far as to say it was staggered, but hey, I had fun. The name line dancing must be just a suggestion.
