20 years of Changes in DTLA
Keeping it short and sweet today - went to the dispatch center in downtown Los Angeles as part of special Detail. It's $13.00 to park down there now. I remember when I first started it was $3.00!!!! WHAT THE BLEEPING HELL?!
The tinkertoy parking lot is gone and replaced with generic looking small apartment buildings. It kinda has that 1950's commie vibe and reminded me of the buildings I saw in Buchenwald on the way to the concentration camp (when I went in 1991 after the Wall fell) minus the bullet holes.
The lot where Parker Center used to be is now overgrown grass with coyotes! How do coyotes get there? The company car was dirty with paw prints on the window and hood from the coyotes.
Why does it smell like day old vandalism down there?
I'm so glad I work in the valley. I'll take my smelly 3 am skunk any day of the week.
