Plans are Worth it.

Day 4038

OOPS! Are you looking for a confession? Do you really think that time is the culprit? Or yes,.....What is really going on?

Now that we have got the guilt trip added into the record.

Time is the same for everyone. Agreed and acknowledged.
What went wrong is that the person did not think through the matter and prepare a plan.
Some "You want to be a writer?" book says that one must write at a specific time every day. Now if someone has a job or a relative that he/she must give care to, then that removes a few hours from time available to use. Taking and picking up children from school? Cut out maybe one more hour. Got a meeting with the boss? Time to attend church? Cleaning house? Well there you go. More time has been eliminated. And maybe the list goes on and on.
But wait!!!! Are you alone or is there a spouse or partner who lives in the same house? Is the work equally divided? Do you sit down every now and then to discuss the projects and who does what? Maybe you should.
Please don't give me "That's a man's job. Or "Women are supposed to do that!" Pish posh!
Making a list of all the things to do for a week, may show that person/s what they do and must prioritize. Kids and caregiving is important. Playing tennis or golf is not a life's must. Good work is team work. And any gender should know how to wash clothes, shop for food or get gas for the car.
And yes there may be days in which the schedule or daily calendar gets filled. An emergency, that requires a doctor or hospital visit is not a time stealer but a time user. And well spent too if it saves a life or limb.
I have run out of time myself. "Where did the time go?" "Did I for see this interruption?" "Did my co-worker run out because of stress or just laziness?" Now lazy people are another story or prompt. Especially when the boss walks in and says "This is due tomorrow morning." and the time clock says 5:00 PM to you. And you will never get your lost time back while the lazy person is at home playing with kids or taking a nap.
I believe that check lists help, especially when a person does check off things done. Looking at those little check marks show accountability, and work. Maybe at the end of a week or month, you can give yourself a treat. Why not! You have earned it. And if that treat is extra time to do something that will put a smile on your face, then Wooo-whoooo! Welcome to the 'most productive person club.' But, "shhhhh! Don't tell anyone because some winey person might beg you to do some of his or her work which is their responsibility. Time to relax or finish writing your story was earned legitimately. By planning and sticking to that plan is a golden plan.
Are you ready for more time?
Then:
ONE!
TWO!
THREE! Go for it. Plan and then enjoy!
