Horsons Part 6
Greta and Rorik lounged on the couch, the afternoon sun slicing through the blinds. The muted news played on the screen, the anchor’s voice droning on about a disaster somewhere far away. Greta smirked at a sound from the kitchen, one that made Rorik flinch and the corner of her mouth twitch with amusement.
Her belly sagged as she shifted slightly, the weight of her presence filling the room. Just as she leaned forward, the front door opened. Minerva stepped in, pausing for a moment at the threshold.
“Everything… okay?” she asked, her voice cautious.
Greta’s smirk didn’t waver. “Perfectly fine,” she said, her tone smooth, almost teasing. “Just the usual.”
Minerva nodded, sensing there were some things better left unsaid, and carefully took a seat nearby, keeping her eyes trained on the TV. The room was warm, silent except for the broadcast and the faint, unspoken tension hanging thick in the air.
