My right patella was broken on 1/12/03. This is about the recovery process. |
| Lately, it has been nice to get out of the house. I have felt human again and not as much an elderly shut in. I know I am only 31, far from an elderly woman but being unable to drive or truly take care of my almost toddler daughter has made me feel older than I am. I love the fact that I am able to have my son help me push my wheelchair down the street. He has become a very helpful 7-year-old. I believe a lot of that comes from being in cub scouts becuse they teach a boy to be a helpful person in the realm of helping those in need. Anyway, I have my appointment next Wednesday and I am hoping I can convince the doctor to put a new cast on that is without the hatch in the knee. He is going to take out the stitches then and thus he should not have to look at the incision anymore until things heal. The cast looks like a dirty sock anyway and I really think after 4 weeks that I deserve a new cast anyway. I don't want a chance to have something bad go wrong just because the hatch is there and the cast is less effective even if it isn't -- I have fears that are legitimate, in my opinion. More updates soon!!!! |
