Poetic sketches of poems beginning with A through D |
| [ASR] Based on a painting of Chagall and a '80s song of Boy George. ♠♠♠♠♠ Acrobat ♠♠♠♠♠ The quilted feline swirls red, gold and green, like a chameleon clown. She spins a hoop with sinewy grace. Her karma comes and goes in a whirl of dreams where loving would be easier, Boy George, if she were around. (or is it a he? We never were quite sure with you either.) The curve of butt, the slender fingers, the willow form, and a face Modigliani would've fell for. Kåre Enga catalogue number: [162.492] 31 oktober 2005 Notes: Based on the painting "Acrobat" of Marc Chagall (1914), in the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, NY. Numerous phrases come from the 1980's hit song "Karma Chameleon" by Boy George. This quote of Chagall is noteworthy: "Lured by their colors and make-up, I dream of painting new psychic distortions." I've been to the Albright-Knox, probably have seen the original painting, was born in Buffalo, went to a Boy George concert there. http://www.davidrumsey.com/amico/amico273110-10274.html |
