Just in case...
Going out tonight to a Red Cross benefit of wine and jazz; so just in case I don't get back in time to blog, I'll put a word in now. I'd like to keep August blue--it's my favorite color.Someone gave me a sign once that said: Put a little blue in everything you do. My new blue is the Journaling merit badge Barbs gave me. It looks perfect there.

Bill is cheerful today, even though he's paying bills. I'm filing, and he'd rather pay than file. He talked to his daughter, Elizabeth, today on the phone as she was driving to Gainesville getting ready for a trial. She's an attorney. He followed her way on MapQuest all the way to where she was staying and helped her when she made a wrong turn. His son called later, so he's in good form--as long as we don't talk about work.

Speaking of work, I went to visit a hospice patient yesterday who isn't on my case load; the other chaplain was out of town on vacation. Walked in and was surprised to find a full size brown bear, stuffed but previously real, standing by the door. Her son-in-law is a hunter. It was huge! That should sure scare away burglars!

The woman, Mary Lou, (who said I could use her name and tell her story) is still able to get out for an occasional drive. Recently she detoured her friend from their planned route to head up to the church where her former mother-in-law is the secretary. Said she just felt inclined to go give her a hug, a spur-of-the-moment thing. When she got there, no one answered the door. She went on in and found her M-i-L sitting at the desk, unable to talk. They called 911 immediately and got her to the hospital where she stayed for a few days, recovering almost completely from her stroke. Thank God for Mary Lou who listened to God's prompting.
