A few years ago, North Dakotaās legislation wanted to rename the state to something other than North Dakota. They reasoned the name implied we have nothing but cold weather, and it hampered tourism. Most everyone thought the idea was ridiculous. After all, no one thinks of blizzards and -40 degree temperatures when thinking of North Carolina. Weāre a northern state. It can get cold no matter what the stateās name, and most people are smart enough to realize that . . . well, all but some politicians, that is. One politician thinking the idea just as silly suggested we name the state āBrrrrā. I thought the name was funny at first, but Iām thinking now perhaps itās not such a bad idea. Why? According to a bank in Bismarck, we broke all records of brrrness on Saturday (my apologies for the poor quality. I aināt got the best of camera on my cell phone): ** Image ID #1212973 Unavailable ** I must be really acclimated to the cold, as is my car, my dog, and everything else, because it sure didnāt feel that chilly. Not one thing or person froze solid in the thirteen seconds one would expect with -196 degree temperatures. I think the bankās thermometer was a little off. What do you think? I hope you all are having a great Monday so far. I sure do miss you. I am hoping in the next few days I'll be able to go on another Blog Binge, though. ![]() |
