A blog of no uncertain musings. What goes on in my mind is often a source of wonder to me. |
Nothing like kicking off the New Year 'write' with a 31-day Blog Challenge by "The Talent Pond" ![]() DAY 1: If you could assign someone else a New Year's resolution that they HAD to keep, who would you choose, what would you assign them, and why? It's so tempting to assign a herculean task to someone, friend or enemy, and even I, mild-mannered JACE ![]() ![]() A thought occurred to me while fixing my breakfast a few minutes ago. I love peanut butter sandwiches for breakfast. Just creamy peanut butter. No jam. And no chunks for me. The one thing I absolutely detest is reaching into the peanut butter jar, taking a generous amount of that creamy ambrosia on my knife, spreading it on a fresh slice of white bread, and leaving furrows with chunks of old bread and bits of dark-colored jam. What should have been a smooth surface of uniform light brown goodness now looks like a southern Missouri freshly plowed field littered with rocks and tree roots. There's no telling how long those bits and chunks have festered in my jar of peanut butter. To everyone who decides to use my peanut butter, take only what you need for your sandwich, and never, EVER place a contaminated knife back into that jar. |
