A blog of no uncertain musings. What goes on in my mind is often a source of wonder to me. |
DAY 2: If you suddenly came into a large sum of money (inheritance, lottery, etc.) that gave you just enough to pay off all your debts and buy one luxury item for yourself of any size and scope... what would that one luxury item be and why is it important to you? I'd be a fool to say that money holds no sway over me, but I honestly enjoy my life as it is. I'm comfortable without having so much that the government feasts upon my so-called first fruits. That said, it would be nice to have all my debts paid. I do have a house mortgage, after all. If you've read my past blog entries, you'll know that I'm a woodworker. That's my livelihood, my job, AND my joy. Jeanette, my wife, will retire in two years. I, on the other hand, have no desire to stop what I do--I love making furniture and kitchen cabinets and entertainment centers and ... you get my drift. I have always loved making things with my hands. With the extra money, I would build a woodworking shop according to a dream design I came up with shortly after I began my business 21 years ago. Even after these years, I could still use a specialized piece of equipment ... or three. ![]() I've been told I'm blessed by every person to whom I've talked who hates his or her job. Indeed, I am. Perhaps one day such a dream might be realized. But, no matter what happens, Jeanette and I will travel as often as we can. At least whenever I can tear myself away from my shop. ![]() |
