A blog of no uncertain musings. What goes on in my mind is often a source of wonder to me. |
DAY 6: If you could live in any fictional world (novel, movie, television show, comic book, etc.) which world would you want to live in and why? This is the toughest question so far ... at least for me. I absolutely love the fact that there are so many 'worlds' into which I can go at a moment's notice. And if I get tired or bored in one world, I can visit another instantly. My fickle desires are all that needs be considered. BUT, if I had to choose a world--it would be one of survival on an island, pitted against the elements with only my strength, intelligence, and wits about me. I first read Jules Verne's The Mysterious Island when I was twelve. And again when I was thirteen, then fourteen ... you get the picture. I also devoured Robinson Crusoe, and even the Swiss Family Robinson. I could probably survive on Gilligan's Island, though I'd probably have to slap the crap out of Gilligan once in a while. ![]() Currently a show of choice is Alaska: The Last Frontier. I'm probably much to set in my ways tol survive long in that kind of environment, but I love believing I could. I guess that's part of each of us--believing we're much stronger than we are. That's the drive that keeps us alive. The essence that keeps us moving forward, to live another day, or year. I'd really love to build the ultimate tree house and live there. Well, I AM a woodworker, after all. ![]() |
