A blog of no uncertain musings. What goes on in my mind is often a source of wonder to me.

Beef: It's What's For Dinner
DAY 16:  Take a trip down memory lane (of your web history). What was the last thing you looked up online and why were you looking it up?

It was nothing exotic, but it was of great interest to me.  I did some research on how to pan fry a great steak.

After my divorce last year, cooking for myself became a much higher priority.  Being a meat and 'taters man, I quickly grew tired of chicken and hamburger.  I needed steak.  Unfortunately my rental unit was part of a community that didn't allow grills.  I'd never cooked a Ribeye in a pan before, and I sure didn't want to screw up such an expensive cut.

I've learned YouTube offers a LOT of videos on cooking.  I also joined a recipe site.  And of course, Yahoo has all sorts of how-to segments on cooking.  No shortage of info for me.  Every time I run across another article or video, I pounce on it to be sure I don't miss any little tidbit to help me perfect this art.  This happened yesterday.  *Smile*

I've pan-fried a couple dozen steaks over the past year plus, and have had a good bit of success (if I can believe those who have shared those meals). I don't eat steak that often ... but I do enjoy that occasional treat.  And cooking is the journey that leads to the pot of gold.
