The Summer Jumper
Pacing through the barn
I come upon some yarn
My human ain't no knitter
And she certainly isn't a quitter

I think she hangs around
Some things might get her down
An optimist at heart
The end is just the start

Of things to then improve
A herd has got to move
She dusts herself off you see
And forward she marches me

We summon all our bones
And trudge through trouble alone
Never asking for the story
Taking faith is the road to glory

We know there's those who complain
And downward they dump the rain
The sun will shine bright through
A sweater will have to do

To keep us safe and sound
When inmates come around
To disturb our grazing ways
We'll wait for better bovine days!
