Snake Shedding Its Skin: A Poem of Transformation I feel my lungs expand, contract, and expand again, pushing against concepts that bind and constrict; concepts that are too small or limiting for my new maturity. Rubbing my jaws against stone of reality, I loosen the dead scales of my illusions; thus beginning the process of elimination. Rib by rib I crawl out of my prejudices, exposing my new knowledge to the warmth of Divine love. Poet's Note: ▶︎ |
