Jonah Inside the Belly of the Whale Averse to obey God's command darkness envelop the being swallowed by the leviathan of self. Stomach acids digest self's outer layer, leave, the inner kernel on its knees begging for salvation. Inside the Ark Out side a storm of hatred gathers, To beat against the doors of faith, As two by two humanity enters, The Ark of God's Covenant. Outside a storm of hatred rages Beating against the doors of faith, Inside God's lovers sing praises Secure in His ancient Covenant. Poet's Note: ▶︎ |
