This is my first attempt to be a blogger. I hope to type a few items that you will enjoy.

I do not know where to begin with this description. The time period is from 0 to now. Please don't ask how long that is. I am sure with certain clues, you will be able to figure that out.
I am writing this on my favorite old computer at home. I have a computer room that doubles as a retreat for a few of my pets when they want to be alone.
I will cover mostly current thoughts. I hope to add some pictures as I have seen in a blog. I think that to do this sharing will take a lot of work, but the pictures I have seen are well worth it.
Occasionally, I might review a flashback in mylife. I have times when I just roll that special even around in my mind until it has every possible facet examined. Usually this time is to try to figure out a "what if" scenario.
If some of my items have no zest to it feel free to say so. I think that after I have some a few trial runs, then the real me will be out for all of the world to see. Luck you! As the saying goes, "Come with me and the best is yet to be."

Day 3294 of August 22 ?

Books! Books! Books!

I love them. And I want as many as my house can hold. And my husband feels the same way.
If a person says that he or she is not a reader, then I feel sorry for them. They are missing the best part of life.....READING. {A small note: If a person is saddled with a reading problem such as dyslexia, decoding difficulties, poor reading comprehension, limited vocabulary, or lack of motivation, then they have a legitimate reason. There are readers, braille, and reading machines to make up for the difficulty. But books need no batteries, act of movement, (except for the eyes tracking the words), or athletic skills.
Books come in all sizes and thicknesses. The baby picture books are fun to buy and read to the child. The books have many genre that one can find fiction or non-fictional variations. So why is this off the prompt?
As I said, I love them all. And I read books as much as possible. Some I feel I need to go all the way through a good book. A few I can leave with the loyal bookmaker inside. And the others I can pick up and reread as I need.
Answer to the prompt:{u} I do both{/u}. Read and leave and Read and finish. And I have both kinds all over the house. My husband takes better care of his books. He is a Read and finish person mostly.
When I was in college, I was one of the few who stayed in the school's (college ) library and had to be told to leave because I could not take home the reference book I had. The announcement that the library was closing was not deliberately ignored, just forgotten about.
So if a person takes me into a book store, or used book store be ready to let me check out every aisle. Promise that you will not take any of the books I have out of my hands. Instead, buy the books and I will follow them home.
Just one more book, please!

Day 3922 August 21, 2025

Dirty Dancing is. movie is a movie that had music, dancing and a message that I missed. The abortion part was missed or I forgot.
But I enjoyed Patrick Swayze, who was born in my hometown of Houston and Jennifer Grey a New Yorker as the dancers. I cheated and found out that there was tension between the two because of their differences in acting styles. But they managed to pull it together to perform nicely.
The second message was about woman's rights when Penny had an abortion.
There were a few more ideas in this movie which I might view again. But overall it was a huge hit. I am sorry that Patrick died of cancer before a second movie could be made.
So my rating is good movie. Good acting that includes the dancing. And Bad time for me to not pay more attention. Maybe the next movie could involve a child of the two assuming that they got married and had a child. The partner could be from one of the other couples who participated in the dance. You never know. I guess I need to pay more attention. These actors do put a lot of work into their movies.
BTW I enjoyed John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever in 1977. These are in my top 3 of dancing movies.

Day 3925
This prompt can have many people stand up and comment, "No. I like ______ (you fill in) better. I have enjoyed The Wizard of Oz since I was young many years ago. Yes it has imagination, suspense, and outstanding, memorable characters. Dorothy, the heroine, aka Judy Garland, sang the most lovely song, (Over the Rainbow)
It was well done. Maybe people liked it so much that it took them out of the worries and real world that they were trying to forget, just for a while.
Give credit where credit is due. It was and still is popular. I hope the children will sit still through this classical movie. It was and still is a classic.
But on the list that I looked up, the others were:
1. Titanic
2. E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial
3.The Wizard of Oz
4. Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope
5. The Lord of the Rings
6. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
7. Terminator 2: Judgement Day
8. The Lion King
9. The Godfather
10. The Jesus Film.

Note that some movies are more for adults than children. So one must decide to rent and watch or wait until their children grow up. Since my house is completely adult filled, we have no problems with that.
Now for the Oz movie favorite character, it would be Dorothy, aka Judy Garland. At that time Judy or Miss Frances Gumm was very talented but had a tragic life. Look it up for yourself. As Dorothy, she portrayed a child who lived with an aunt and uncle and just did things her way. (Almost sounds like me.) But as a performer, she won awards and acted with others like Mickey Rooney.
Here's to the little Dorothy who wanted to go home, wore those beautiful red slippers and even killed a witch by throwing water on her. What a girl! What a dream! What a movie!!!

Day 3919 of August 8

Edgar Allen Poe was a very talented writer. I have not read all of his works, especially poetry. “The Raven” comes to my mind first. He wrote 48 poems with themes of the macabre, loss and love. For him to talk about rhythmical creation is a very clear and accurate description of the way many authors feel. I totally agree.
The word ‘rhythm’ is a word in the arts, more specifically dance. I look for the pulse, cadence or accents to my work. Sometimes it is with the repetition of a phrase or word for emphasis. Many poems, that follow a special form, must meet the meter’s requirement.
Going into the world of poetry, many poets have master works that come alive with the descriptive words that compliment the rhythm in it. Together the work comes full of energy to make the reader come to want more poems and classical features.

If I could write a simple poem
It’d be as sweet as a honeycomb
From day to night I’d like to roam
And write more poems with my metronome.

Crude and spontaneous but the rhythm should be there. Enjoy your work and share.
Have a nice day.

If one is happy, they are happy no matter what the season of the year. Being happy just makes things easier and nicer to do. There is more pep to the step. One comes up with ideas that they would not have thought when there is no gloom all around. Happiness is like a vitamin shot or boost.
If they are not happy then time might be irrelevant. The gloom inside one’s mind makes life with its necessary projects slow to do or just a pain in the you know what.
This is my opinion but bear in mind If a project is important and must be done, happiness or gloom, a responsible person will do it, to the best of their ability.

For Day 3906 7/24/2025

The issue here is if I did any purchases in July for Christmas or saw Christmas themed movies.
I used to do that. But with situations in my own family, that went south. I think that I tried to give the gifts but the gift was not appreciated. There was also a situation that lead to members being so mad at me that I was not invited to any celebration for about 4 years so that holiday is not pleasant for me. I don't even care to see a movie related to it.
Now that I am married, my dear husband do celebrate this holiday by attending church and exchanging gifts. But some men are hard to shop for. The "I don't need anything." response is a downer. But now we do make this day, a day of being together and exchanging gifts that are usually something we need or had hinted about. And believe you me, our hints are important. If we need to order from Amazon or a place that needs delivery time, we do it.
As of now, I have 3 consecutive events to buy something for. But I am even working on something now. (Today is Friday, August 1st) We do want to surprise and please each other. We have his family to celebrate with. We just count our blessings, go to church and talk about things in the past. There is a lot that I still want to learn about his family and childhood. He is a very kind and special man.
The three consecutive events are: wedding anniversary and Christmas in December and his birthday in January. I don't mind . He's worth it!
