a Thank You note

A day that starts out with sunshine.
A chocolate bar hidden up on top of the fridge.
A day that finishes off with rain
waters the plants effortlessly.
The baby sleeps. The kids watch a movie.
I check my email and find a gift upgrade.
It was going to take me a long year to upgrade.
A long year, a someday, an only if,
my least favorite words to say.
Definitely not words I can say in front of the children..
