This treatise is the result of a visit to church 1-18-09, and a song that became the root for the acrostic Worthy Is The Lamb, on 1-19-09 the second acrostic was gelled into the first.

DAY 1000: August 12, 2015

"Blogging Circle of Friends " is celebrating 1000 days today. Write a poem, short story or something about how to celebrate a 1000 anniversary.
One thousand days, oh what a milestone.
I remember when this was first formed and a lot of the blogs I have in here were a result of those earlier prompts. The founder of the group was always so open and caring.
I think a great way to celebrate 1000 days is to shoot for another thousand.
Or you could have a blog-a-thon where one person starts the blog and it just mushrooms into a day full of blogs.
Or we can have a 1 day raffle and all the proceeds would go to the group or contest leader who needs it the most. Maybe 5 % could go to the winner so the majority would go straight to the group.
I am thankful the group is still viable and dearly missed it when I had to leave the group due to no internet access or very limited access for long stretches of time.
Here's to 2000 days just 1k days away.

Typhoon Soudelor Ravaged Saipan and on Saturday dumped heavy rain causing power outages to over a million people.

How important do you think social media's role is in situations like these? Do you think they help or make things worse?

Social media can be used to stir up trouble and in the case of disasters; natural and man-made; the media can become a distraction and cause more harm than good. I think thee is a time and place for social media. When weather events occur, I do believe there should be all avenues available to those in the midst of the disaster. It is vital for information to be distributed accurately and on a timely basis.

The important thing to remember about disasters that are going on at any given moment; involves individuals who are in a life threatening situation. They should become the focus and not having media introducing expert after expert, airing the same scene over and over. The media needs to become the conduit that those in the midst of disaster can use to help them avoid the brunt of the onslaught.

People are important and when we put them first, over selling the next big thing in between spots of reporters hanging-ten or clinging to a stop light post; we have a better setting to work from. Social media has a responsibility to the people to be there to serve them and keep them informed. For without people using social media, there would be no one to listen to the news stations, read twitter or facebook either.

Yes social media can be a help or a hindrance. It's up to them to decide whom they are catering to.

Thanks for a thought provoking prompt Lyn.

Writing is so very vital.
Reality fantasy or plain prattle.
It comes from the heart.
There is a true part.
Inserted into each line created.
No embellishing or dressing needed.
Graphic artists cannot beat writing.

Talk about one of your best memories.

I was looking for another church to attend.
I had just completed a charity walk and had experienced the Lord's provision just when it was needed the most. This was a Walk America event at White Rock Lake, back when the route was 30 kilometers or 18 + miles.
If you live in the Dallas Forth Worth, Metroplex area, you know all about White Rock Lake. Back to my best memory.
I attended this church because the pastor visited me and that made an impression on me. I was being introduced around in the class rooms and met this lady, and out of the blue I heard the Lord say; "this will be your wife." Of course it took me 6 months to get up the nerve to even ask Rhonda out, but as they say the rest is history because we have been together for 27 years and on to 28 this coming Christmas day.
The pastor married us in 1987, and he is still alive and living in Austin, Texas. We still write him from time to time.
Thanks for a good trip down memory lane.

Please wait for Neva to close the day.

Everyday there is an article about this superfood or that superfood, what do you think about all the stuff they claim? Have you followed any of the regimes with success? Do you personally recommend any super food? Why or Why not?

Am I right in assuming that "super foods" help you lose weight or fight against free radicals? I'm really clueless, mainly because I'm trying to survive from day to day. Maybe I'm missing out on some good stuff, or perhaps I'm avoiding jumping from new ideal to the next and achieving little or no results.

I guess you know by now that I cannot recommend any super foods personally, but hey maybe one day I will become the next expert with the next must have super food.

Blessings beloved,

Prompt: Thankful Thursday: Write story, poem, list or something about what you're grateful to have or about gratitude.

For me payday is not a thankful thing, and every second Thursday I look with trepidation to see how low it is this week.
My check has so many hits on it that I lame so much less than even the rent and utilities I must pay every month, let alone all of the other stuff that life throws at us.

At this time the battery in the car has struck again and I'm trying not to blow a gasket. Which by the way the car will eventually do anyway.
An attempt at charging it went bust. Now seeing if someone in the area has a charger I can connect to see if it just needs more time to boost back up.
So here I come looking in the email and what do I see. Thankful Thursday.
What can I say? Even in the face of the possible rent debacle and the battery that is a monster rather than a help, I will focus on the things I am thankful for.

God - the heavenly Father and the view that He has, is greater than the car, the head gasket, the rent deficit, the food deficit, and any other negative thing I could put in here. For with God in my life, I still have hope.

Rhonda - 27 years and counting, she is now and forever will be the reason I go to work to receive the meager pay that I do. She has the Cadillac of pace makers that is keeping her heart beating. She has seizures that have lasted for decades, and yet she still loves the Lord as much as I do. Noe that's rare iin this day and age of "I'm in control and if you don't like it I'll run you over."

Writing.com. Wow! Even this very day the site continues to minister to me in the emails, including this so relevant prompt on Thankful Thursday.

Social media in general because I have been able to share a talent that was started as a whim, which is now in multiple forms including video, illustrated jingles, and charitable events that I pour my heart and soul into with every jingle and walk I do.

I'll stop here, but its really just the beginning and now I feel better than when I did. Who know when the car will be fixed? He does. who knows when the next blessing will come? He does. Who knows there are so many things to be grateful for even in the midst of mountains of debt and disasters? I do. Do you?

Prompt Write a story or a poem about a dream within a dream.

Dreaming of a life without back pain.
Rearing my head high and letting fly.
Every jog, every yard, every mile is a hugh gain.
All of this feels like a dream, is it something I should try?
Many times dreams have inspired greatness, could this be such a time?
It feels so good, almost like there is no pain at all in my back.
Nope! Not the case. I'm awake now and the pain causes a rhyme.
Going back to sleep now so I can run and kick this pain to the trash sack.

Dreaming of running, walking, sleeping without back pain. I think I'm making it a reality. 32 parking spaces in my apartment complex is the goal for a week. The pain in my back is decreasing daily, and maybe the dream of running will soon become a reality and the cure will be found in good old fashioned sweat and tears one-stall-at-a-time. Is it a dream? Can I really do this? I don't know anymore, 'cause for the first time in my entire 59 year life, I think I can run and not pay for it in searing pain and spasm's.

Forest Gump; a character played by Tom Hanks; ran himself right of his braces and continued to run throughout the entire movie. One day if you hear in the netherworld "run Steve run", It's probably a dream coming to life and I'm running without pain for the first time ever. What a dream! Or is it a dream?

Prompt: What is your favorite part about blogging? Do you see yourself doing it for a long time?

Blogging is something I have done for a good while now and can see that I will be doing it for the long run.
Favorite part is reading peoples response to the blogs. Most of them on this site are prompt based, whereas others are "real life" happenings that prompt me to write about them.
If any blog that comes from this heart; and that is where they come from; can touch one person for the positive, I am thankful and grateful to have had that opportunity.

June 29 is International Mud Day. All that you need to have fun today is water and dirt you mix them together and you have mud. Write about having fun with mud or in the mud. Write a story, poem, memory, or even a rant if you don't like mud. Enjoy and be creative.

Mud! Get your mud!
Unleashed and fun to sling.
Don't worry, it all washes away.

Dig into the wetness and shriek.
Unblemished and fresh from the source.
Making mud pies and having fun.

Mud is not dumb.
Uninhibited fun or even sophisticated skin care.
Dab on a little bit, or hey slather it all over the face.

This author remembers going out in the rain and making mud pies straight out of the ditch. Good news is no eating was done. Cause as fun as mud is it is dirt and water after all. Clean innocent fun bringing back good memories on this National Mud Day. Salute!

Let's create something...anything you can think of so long as you include - beach, frisbee, crab, sun and ice

I'd like to go to the beach during my vacation. Soak in thesun, toss a frisbee, and drink some ice tea. I know Rhonda would love to eat a stuffed crab along the way. There is actually a lake in town that I've never been to in my time in Arlington, Texas.

So that could be a bucket list item I add and fulfill within the next 10 days. Would be the quickest fulfillment. I am presently still dreaming of my personal encounter with a water fall. Hey maybe there will be a waterfall at the lake too. Wouldn't that be a blessing to do two bucket list items at one time.

It's Friday, have a blessed day and listen to the sounds of nature around you. If you do you may find that there is something out there that was meant just for you.
