Welcome back to WDC. I too have come back (again) after a hiatus. Life gets in the way sometimes. I'm always so glad I kept my account just as is. Many people delete their accounts and truly wish they didn't when they find themselves back at their WDC home.

Having convos with AIs can be a trip down the rabbit hole.

I'm writing from Thailand. Hot and humid in July... what else is new! Hoping for rain.

I think that like any new tool AI will have powerful uses and misuses. But, there's always the option of opting out. I started writing again in my hand-written journal and I pay with cash. I do use the internet but google has become so monetized as to be almost worthless.

Hawthorne Mythos... I have written more Zmitri poems and I need to get back to my two vampire series.

I find working on-line is different from paper. I can edit better on-line... if the chromebook and connection is working properly.

I haven't done any pure free-writing in years. I haven't done any little writing exercises in a coupla few--more?--months, and that used to be great for me. I love that it's working this well for you!

I agree, Elle. It would be pretty impossible to make it work on a comprehensive scale. We can, as individuals, reward public reviews, though, and I'm mighty thankful for that.

I've seen lots of long reviews there weren't what I'd consider in-depth. And plenty of short reviews that I would consider in-depth. My definition is more about the, well, depth of thought in the review. It's almost impossible to define in general. But in a reductive example (and I hope you'll forgive me for it being reductive), it can be the difference between saying, "Great main character!" and saying what made the main character great in the reviewer's eyes.

Is a long review by definition an 'in-depth review'? Can a short review be an 'in-depth review'? Can reviewers be trusted to know whether their review fits that description or not? I don't think they can. I think some in-depth reviewers will doubt themselves, and some fluff reviewers will think they're delivering more than they actually are... It's tricky to see how the two kinds of reviews can be sorted in any sort of automatic fashion, and it's way too big a job to be done manually (by someone reading all reviews and designating them as in-depth or not). I don't mean to only offer critique without suggestion, but I can't see a way to make it work.

I've done lots of rhyming projects and some song lyrics, but it always feels slightly contrived to make the words rhyme and fit a line format. I love free verse and am using a lot in my work-in-progress, Willow Tears.

Prompt: Lies, everyone tells them some people are better liars than others... or are they?

An institutionalized lie is highly resistant to truth.

Think about it. --- We have lived (or died) with lies about Cancer, AIDS, 9/11, Elections, the Civil War, the First World War, the Second World War, the Afghan War, the Iraq War, the Syria Civil War, and on and on...

The untruths are repeated, reinforced, enhanced and whispered, announced, broadcast so many millions of times by the governments, rulers, politicians and institutions that steer and order the history writers, the Media, the script writers, the paid experts---that the truths are buried and distorted forever.

However, now in 2017 we see and hear a resounding clash between:
TRUTH and LIES leaving everyone confused and full of anxiety. Some of the best lies have a dark side that take a very bright light to expose. And would folks recognize the truth if they weren't blinded by the darkness or the illumination?

Where's the damn switch? I'd like to see the BEST TRUTH!
